What Changed My Life Forever

In 2020 my life changed forever when I was laid off from my tech startup job.

At the time, I was navigating a series of life situations which had effectively leveled me in many ways. As I contemplated my next move as a single mother with a 5-year-old in rural Arkansas, I turned to the one thing I knew I loved: project management.

During those months of pandemic isolation and insecurity, I poured myself into my blog and later my YouTube channel with the sole purpose to help project managers by sharing what I had learned.

But then something very unexpected happened - people from my audience began reaching out to request my services. And to my own shock, I started landing paying clients from my simple content on YouTube, something I never expected to happen.

This is how my consulting business was born, and I soon began moonlighting with agencies and small businesses.

Over the years my work has grown from a side hustle to full time. From managing small projects to building entire training programs and consulting with entrepreneurs around the world. I’m amazed and beyond grateful for how far this has gone.

But here’s the deal: I learned everything I know about starting a service-based business, marketing, and delivering quality work that solves a problem by actually doing it. I’ve spent years studying, trying things out, and learning from successful people who are a few steps ahead of me.

I've thought a lot about my "why" for the course. And the best way for me to describe it is within the context of my journey, which I share with you here.

Above all, this course is a representation of my commitment to continue giving back - just as I was first committed to helping project managers through content on my YouTube channel, I continue to be dedicated to helping freelancers launch and build successful businesses by sharing what I've learned.
