Building a Brand

Building a brand based on who you are as a person is a very serious and intimate matter.

It is not about superficial likes and engagement.

The term "personal branding" is being thrown around by everyone who has a name and a face and something to sell on the internet.

But simply having a name and a face and selling something isn't very personal, in my opinion.

Here's what personal branding means to me:

⭐ It's about standing up for what you believe is right (like morally and ethically, not just what you believe is the best way to format posts).

⭐ It's about sharing parts of yourself that make you human and vulnerable in order to connect and build meaningful relationships with others (not only sharing your successes, wins, and photos designed to make other envious.)

⭐ It's about building something while in the service of others because you want to help, because you actually care, and because you believe in something bigger than yourself (whatever that may be).

My great hope is that this message rings clear in my posts, although I understand I'm not the right fit for everyone's feed and that's ok too.

I don't always do this personal branding thing as well as I would like, but I sure try.

And I hope when I share pictures of my real self here, you can see some of that passion in my eyes.

Because I do care, deeply, and real human connection means a whole lot more to me than likes and dollar signs.
