What's your why?

Many days of hard work are balanced by a day or two of play.

Not the other way around.

Maybe I'm alone here, but my goal isn't to NOT work.

I'll say it another way: I want to work.

In fact, I am honored to be able to work.

That's because I'm on a mission far beyond being a solopreneur or delivering project management to small businesses or posting a picture of my face on a social media platform. My why is way bigger than all of that stuff.

And "work" is the only way to make progress.

It's not always fun, pleasant or what I feel like doing. But I choose to do it anyway.

This photo represents a day of play.

It was fun to spend the day with my daughter at the art museum.

I was able to do that because of the photos I didn't take - the ones where I'm answering emails at midnight, finishing a deck from the school pickup line, and holding back to back Zoom calls.

That's because even when you create a life of freedom and flexibility, a big part of that life is, well, work.

And even as a person with a positive mindset, I won't lie to you and tell you I'm always able to reframe it into fun. Because sometimes it's just a slog.

That part doesn't go away.

But when you have a why that's bigger than yourself, it makes it all worth it. 💫
