Living in a low(er) cost of living area might be a freelancing hack...

But I stay because of the quiet.

No matter how busy my life gets I always have my peaceful little corner of Earth to return to.

This is important to me because it has always been extremely challenging to quiet my mind. The wheels spin and spin and spin. I know many of you can relate.

This is both a blessing and a curse.

I have a lot of ideas and am fortunate to be skilled at actually getting them done (as my headline suggests), but stopping the noise is much harder.

The noise is not always encouraging. And I struggle with how to stop it.

Creating boundaries and systems for myself is helpful, but literally being able to enjoy a quiet moment in nature without a bunch of other people around is the most healing of all. I can ground myself and remember what really matters.

Having access to the natural world right outside my door has become non-negotiable in my life (and something I acknowledge I'm incredibly fortunate to have!).

So even thought direct flights to visit my clients are a pipe dream, the sushi here sucks, and practically everyone confuses my state with Arizona, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. 🌳

❓ Anyone else leave city life for something more quiet?

Enjoy your weekend and remember to take time for yourself!
