I’m not a CEO
Someone asked me the other day why I don’t refer to myself as a CEO.
The answer is simple: I don’t refer to myself as a CEO because I’m not a CEO.
I am a one person business.
Or a fractional operations leader.
Or a strategic advisor.
Or a project management consultant.
Or even a freelancer.
I have no problem with any of these titles because they are true.
And I also have no need to stroke my ego or pad my resume by using bloated terminology.
Do titles matter? Sure, they matter in so far as they accurately represent what we are doing.
Beyond that, it’s just noise.
❓ If you're a one person team, what do you call yourself?
