Find a client

Every week I meet with folks who want to know how to launch their freelance project consulting businesses.

My answer is always the same and very simple:

👉 Find a client.

Start with a basic service or offer that you feel confident delivering.

If you’re a project manager, then that’s managing projects, probably for certain types of companies, using certain types of systems and a certain method or approach.

Don’t reinvent the wheel in the beginning.

Focus on what you’re good at, gather feedback and insights, then grow it from there.

There will be plenty of time in the future to build an awesome website, develop professional branding, and create multiple offers and services.

But in the beginning, all you need is that one client to get started.

Question number two is always this:

👉 Where can I find clients?

That’s why I created my one-pager called “10 Places to Find Work as a Freelance Project Manager.”

It’s perfect for project managers or any project-oriented professionals who are looking to land work on the side, or launch a full-on business.

This document is available to my email list subscribers, along with my weekly newsletter containing practical tips for freelancing and project management.
