Creating Content Is a Good Way to Get over Yourself
Creating content is a very, very good way to get over yourself.
For me, this is how it worked:
I wrote stuff that sucked and got little to no engagement, so my ego took a beating.
I posted content that was misunderstood or “too opinionated” which resulted in discovering not everyone will like me.
I have been on podcasts and said things I wish I would have phrased differently, created videos that now make me cringe and shared photos that aren’t always the most flattering (ego again).
Mostly, I have been real and forced myself to face what that means.
The good news is, once you get over yourself (which is a huge relief, by the way), there’s so much to learn.
I’ve found my voice and become a much better writer through my daily practice.
I’ve become more confident and tactful with sharing my thoughts, building life changing relationships in the process.
I’ve openly failed and learned, had opportunities that forced me to step outside my comfort zone and grow, and used my experiences to help others.
This is how it worked for me, but maybe for you it’s different.
And in the end, I think it’s worth it. 💫
What have you learned from creating content?
