There Is So Much to Gain from This Practice

Since October 2022 I’ve written over 300 original LinkedIn posts, averaging 300 words each which is enough to fill a 300 page book.

That’s a lot of 300’s. 😅

And also a lot of content.

Y'all, this is how compounded effort works.

There have been a lot of benefits, beyond the obvious:

DOUBLE DUTY:

If you are familiar with my posting style, then you know I focus on the written word over infographics and carousels. In fact, many of my posts are relevant stories or thoughtful anecdotes with well-organized insights.

And while I don’t plan on slapping my posts together and calling it a book, I use plenty of my content for other purposes, like talks and client resources.

RESILIENCE:

Over the years I’ve (naturally) received criticism for my content - with the main complaints being the usual: too many selfies, not enough infographics or carousels, and too much “personal” stuff.

But at the end of the day, it's all helped me become stronger and more secure in myself. So for that I'm grateful.

LEARNING:

I've learned a ton - about myself, about work, about communication, about life. So much so that it would be difficult to describe the incredible growth that's occurred.

OPPORTUNITIES:

Beyond my wildest dreams, I never anticipated some of the opportunities that have come my way. And they never would have happened if I didn't take the first step and put myself out there.

So if you're considering this path, here are a few recommendations from me to you:

  1. Just start - you will get better as you go.

  2. Focus on what feels right for you - your content doesn't have to follow a formula or look like anyone else's.

  3. People will disagree - that's simply because there are billions of perspectives in this world. Don't sweat it.

Bottom line: there is so much to gain from this practice. 💫

And to everyone who takes the time to read my posts to the end - thank you. 🙏
