Perspective Will Come in Retrospect

I can count on one hand the number of people who encouraged me from the start of this, when I was at my lowest several years ago.

And really only a couple who have believed in me the whole time.

One is my daughter, so she had no choice. 😅

Of course, now through my network I have wonderful supporters (like all of you!) and for that I am grateful.

But still, it never ceases to amaze me how many people want to criticize or correct or condescend, instead of support and uplift.

The truth is, the naysayers haven't been in the arena, so they don't know.

At this point I simply smile, thank them and move on but, still, it can sting at times. It can feel lonely.

And because I've felt it I know so many others have too, which is why part of my mission is to offer support however I can. Whether it’s through a post or a DM or even a face to face conversation, I want you to know you aren’t alone.

While clearly I can’t be available to everyone in real time, I try to offer something positive to this world everyday.

So today I send you encouragement to continue on your journey, a reminder to give yourself grace and love, and the truth: where you are now is exactly the right place to be.

Perspective will come in retrospect.
