Leverage the talents you use in your day job
Leveraging the talents you use in your day job to build a side hustle is a no brainer.
But so often people try to go a completely different direction with their side hustles, like selling crocheted animals at craft fairs.
(No shame, I've been there ๐ ).
I'm all for passion and diversification, but I'm also for optimizing my time and actually making money.
And, in my opinion, side hustles are essential safety nets as we navigate this "mass layoff" era. Everyone should have a few.
Without my side hustles, I would have been in very bad shape after I was laid off four years ago. I know I'm not alone.
Which brings me back to my point: build smart by leveraging your talents and skillset to create additional income streams.
Especially if you are just starting out with the side hustle thing, why not focus on the stuff you already get paid for?
And for a project manager, that means managing projects.
Currently, I have three separate revenue streams I've built off of my project management work, and there are more on the way.
I'm here to tell you it's possible, but it takes time and serious strategy, which is why I suggest you start NOW while you still have a job.
And, in case you are wondering, it's not as simple as whipping up a landing page and charging for your time (sorry gurus, that's now how this works!).
Not sure where to get started? I've got you covered.
